What are the top strong Tree climbing carabiners -Climbers view
I prefer Rock Exotica and the reason why I say this is: in the DMM carabiner they do make beautiful hardware, easy to use, strong, and everything in a fine look but in case of useability and safety I found Rock Exotica. These things never ever need any kind of lubrication or maintenance, they just work all the time, Specially D-shaped carabiners.

What are the Top Tree Climbing Carabiners, which you can Use, and Why?

What most people think about biners which are actually not true:

So let’s get started with accessory carabiners and then we will move towards life-supporting ones,

Accessory Carabiners:

we are gonna start with DMM xsre which is a bit expensive, These have a rating of four kilonewtons and are just an open wire gate and not a twist lock, These are phenomenal and I fairly use them to throw line and throw balls, because they are nice and little, connecting one throw ball to other at the bottom.

Pros and cons

You will feel the strength and good for hard pulling, if you are gonna stuck it will not snap. The only downside that actually never happened to me, but it if you put it on large scale it could clipped around the ring and can be stuck.

Features and uses of DMM xsre

  • Can be used as a neck tether.
  • Used them as lanyards
  • It has the same kind of strength as rock exotica (a kind of Pear shaped carabiner)
DMM XSRE Carabiner - Black

Rock Exotica Carabiner:

It is basically a new version of DMM xsre and tree climbers use it because it has a twist feature that needs an action to open it, and that’s always in the back of the harness, and very helpful features. That’s why most people use this instead of DMM xsre

Pros :

  • It stays stiff
  • You can slide it with one hand
  • can use as throw bags
  • use as a hand saw

But if you use Treestand Harness it becomes very easy to use.

Rock Exotica Rocko WireEye Auto-Lock Carabiner

Great combination and features

we can buy chainsaw lanyards that are lightweight, small, and cheap, Which come with rock exotica when you buy it, so you don’t have the expense of buying any other triple-locking carabiner.

Night IZE carabiners:

When you go to a major hardware store you will see they all have Night IZE products hanging, that glow in the dark, running bands, and stuff for dogs but basically these carabiners are pretty strong and have a little rubber locking mechanism that slides up with a little groove.

It has different sizes and two openings that retrieve the friction. We can lock large sizes with small-size carabiners with little rubber pieces.

Features and Pros

  • We can get it anywhere in our hands
  • Strong and trustable
  • Cheap Price
  • Can handle 11kilogram weight easily

Absolutely fantastic because of the price and size

Con:

  • Not for climbing

Accessory carabiners are never ending because there are always clips that you can clip to bags and other such things, It’s absolutely never-ending.

Moving on to the types of Carabiners and why do we use one for the other?

Oval Shape Carabiners:

It’s very common, and it seems like designed in the arb industry. Anyway, it is perfect for hitch climber setup, because of its round shape, and hitch climbers just glide around and are very easy to set up.

And I personally recommend having a hitch set up at the bottom of its gate, so when we undo and take things off, we can easily press it and can attach any other clips with it without any tension.

Features and Pros

  • It has lifetime support
  • It spread the load evenly to keep everything nice and symmetrical
  • We don’t have a tilt or anything like that.

If you use pinto pully it’s best for you.

Con:

  • Weight is 0.17 kilogram

Oval Shape Carabiners

Pear-shaped Carabiner:

You can attach heavy things to its spine which is obviously the strongest part of carabiners, So, no doubt it is standard for most work like rope access, rescue, and many other applications because these all load things low down at the spines. It has different types and sizes, you can buy according to the size you need.

Pros and cons:

If you are using a friction hitch and hitch climber pully, it does not sits at the bottom, and it’s not even the tightest carabiner and so awkward to get hitch climbers around it. In simple words, It can’t take place of Oval shape carabiners for hitch climbers set up.

Pear shaped carabiners

Petzl Carabiners:

This type of carabiner has emerged in the last few years and has pully at the bottom, DMM also has a version with double pully. It has many mechanical advantages over an SRS (Stationary Rope System)  when you are climbing.

Like if you are hanging on a hill and need to pull yourself back up you will realize a mechanical advantage. You can use it when you lower your chainsaw down, all you have to do is to clip it on the harness. It has so many efficient uses

More features and Pros :

  • Clipping it on your base anchor when you pull the rope out, creates redirect for feeding your rope in the bag again.
  • If you have spare cash laying around and wanna use something new go and use it,

Cons :

  • DMM is better than the Petzl version said a climber

A question arose what is best for useability and safety-wise carabiners?

I prefer Rock Exotica and the reason why I say this is: in the DMM carabiner they do make beautiful hardware, easy to use, strong, and everything in a fine look but in case of useability and safety I found Rock Exotica.
